Message from the Chapter President Print

President's Report

As we wrap up another successful ASPE Portland Chapter year I always enjoy taking stock of the progress that has been made while reflecting on the priorities of the upcoming year.  The 2018-2019 season saw continued strength in quality of technical presentations while also evolving to a Happy Hour style meeting that shows great promise for continued engagement moving into next year.  More continuing education credits were processed this year than in years past which a primary benefit to all of our members and friends.  We had multiple members pass the CPD as well as GPD exams and obtain those professional certifications so important in our careers.  The Chapter membership has also continued to see moderate, steady growth proving the health of our Chapter as well as our market.

Moving into next year, we are finally (after a long, long process) able to switch our Chapter Board operations over to a more automated web-based platform.  Starting July 1st, the ASPE Portland Chapter website will be on the StarChapter platform which will help the Chapter Board further serve and provide benefit to all of our wonderful members.  This will represent a chance to the use experience which we’ll all have to go through.  The biggest difference is that each of you, as members or friends of the Chapter, will need to create a one-time login to our StarChapter site so that when you sign up for events or make payments, we can know and track those transactions and make sure you’re getting credit where deserved.  The rest of the experience should feel similar, with pertinent information on the website along with an integral web-store for payments.

From all of us on the Chapter Board, we thank you for your continued involvement and look forward to seeing new faces, growing our member benefits, increasing engagements, and strengthening our community.  Further, there are several ways to be more involved with the Chapter from Board or Committee positions to Liaisons, so please reach out with any and all interests.

Andrew Flanagan (Outgoing 2019 President)
